Dr Jonathon Linklater is an independent speech and language therapist in Dublin, Ireland. He works with children and adults who present with a range of communication needs. Jonathon trained to be a Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) at the University of Sheffield, and qualified in 2002. Prior to that he studied English Language and Linguistics MA (hons) at the University of Edinburgh. Since qualifying he worked for the Health Service Executive (HSE) with children who have a wide range of communication disorders from speech and language delays to physical, sensory and learning disability.Jonathon, who stutters himself, established the HSE Dublin Adult Stuttering (DAS) course in 2005. He has presented at international conferences on this therapy approach for stuttering. Jonathon re-established the Stuttering Special Interest Group for SLTs.He is Past Chair of the Irish Association of Speech and Language Therapists. Jonathon has been involved with the Irish Stammering Association since 2003 and is currently Development Manager for the charity working with self-help and parent supports as well as groups for young people who stammer - young ISA and ISAYiT! drama group. Since completing the European Clinical Specialism in Fluency Disorders in 2009, Jonathon was awarded his PhD by the University of Limerick for research in stuttering therapy.
