An home interiors obsessive who teaches workshops in real life and online in my Painted Love Academy. I passionately wanted to be an interior designer but struggled with my dyslexia so became a hairdresser instead. Over the last 25 years, and 3 homes later, renovations by me & Mr M have honed my ability to create standout looks on a budget with a mix of traditional DIY, upcycling, furniture painting and crafting. I was chosen as Annie Sloan's Painter in Residence in 2017. This began a journey teaching my unique techniques in Australia, South Africa, Greece, Sweden, Switzerland, Germany, Ireland and the Netherlands. I launched my Painted Love Academy in 2018 to reach more students without flying and in March 2020 when events in Paris and Geneva were cancelled, I realised the importance of my online teaching. I love photography and use my own images, video and sharing easy techniques in my own work and brand collaborations. My aim is to inspire everyone to embrace their inner creativity through their home, painting furniture, styling and creating great interiors while consuming less and re-loving more. It's the perfect time for us all to curate beautiful, bespoke homes and my new monthly membership group "At Home with Jonathon Marc Mendes & Friends" is a great way to do just that.
