We’re a mid-size government operations consulting firm. Our clients are large state government agencies. We do program development strategy, project management, business process design, and IT modernization for programs like Medicaid and Unemployment Insurance. We’ve done work in over 30 states.

• Build and administer Microsoft Access database that gathers, analyses and reports data on Provider Self-Assessments. No previous tracking or reporting method was utilized under the previous contract. • Develop and run SQL queries in SQL Server to deliver program statistics to the Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) program managers, providing a snapshot of where each program was fiscally. • Developed a database for Iowa Participant Experience Surveys. Perform telephonic surveys with Medicaid members receiving services through the HCBS program. Specialists were previously responsible for this task. By taking this on, I was able to save the Specialists time to perform crucial review tasks. • Run reports form Access and Excel on a monthly and quarterly basis that were submitted to management for meetings with State DHS policy staff. • Provide technical support to our field staff. This include troubleshooting, building desk guides and operations manuals, and making sure software and updates are installed correctly• Work with Project Manager in order to create a viable solution to change the State of Iowa’s atypical codes to nationally recognized codes. This involves creating advanced Excel templates that cut the expense and time needed for this project in half saving the State close to $150,000. Implemented a quality assurance measure that eliminated the risk of changing plans in error which would have created more work for the State’s case managers.
