Responsible for proactive ongoing maintenance of the IT network and related technologies. Coordinates moves, additions and changes to the network infrastructure, which includes data and security, voice, wireless, application delivery, LAN/WAN optimization and monitoring platforms. This role will work independently on projects of lesser scope and complexity than more experienced engineers.Using network software tools, identifies the need for and maintains documentation including configurations, interconnections between devices and analysis of equipment lifecycles.Ensures connected device status is monitored to better ensure uptime and availability and responds to reported outages. Collects data and brings possible resolutions to management or higher-level engineers.Reviews and understands basic and mid-level infrastructure technology documents and terminology. Manages the design, set-up and support for small to medium job sites/offices. Participates on teams in the design and set up of more complex networks.Provides Level 2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve and document issues and problems.Understands IT project plans and works with vendors and other IT personnel to arrive at various modifications to plans or resolutions to issues that may arise.

Provide primary escalation support for building technology staff.Provide hardware repair and deployment support for all district endpoint devices. (ChromeOS, MacOS, iOS)Responsible for maintenance of parts and peripheral inventory and purchasing. Provide building level support in absence of assigned technology staff.Provide audio-visual support for classrooms, presentations, district events and board meetings.Provide support for the virtualized server environment, directory services, content filters and firewalls, company-wide phone and video surveillance system.Assist in the administration of a heavily Google Apps for Education / MacOS / iOS environment.Assist in maintaining servers, switches, routers, wireless access points, and other network connected devices.Maintain network security, recognize necessary network improvements, and work with the district technology staff to implement improvements. Ensure support for around-the-clock information transfer, storage, backup and processing meets the service levels required. Help recommend software, hardware and network products and other equipment that meet project needs.Conduct technical research to determine feasibility, cost, time required, and compatibility with current systems. Administer and ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability of data and network services.
