I currently work as a Associate Scientist at MiroBio, an biotech company based in Oxford that specialises in developing antibody modulators of immune receptors for autoimmune diseases. I previously worked as a Scientist in the Immuno-oncology team for Charles River, located in Bristol that specialises in preclinical testing, in areas such as infection, autoimmunity and inflammation. I obtained a Bachelors and Masters degree in Biomedical Science from Plymouth University. My masters thesis focused around studying the effects of nanotoxicity of a reconstituted in vitro oral mucosa model using 3D cell culture techniques.I have good experience in culturing primary cells and cell lines, flow cytometry, immunophenotyping, PBMC isolation, ELISA assays, Incucyte live cell imaging and a wide range of other immunological assays. I also have experience isolating and culturing T cells for use in in vitro assay work. I have good experience developing, optimising and validating in vitro/ pre-clinical immunoassays, in both GCLP and no-GCLP laboratory settings. I am a determined and ambitious individual who is always keen expand my knowledge and skills. I work hard, possess good verbal and written communication skills and have a mind for problem solving. I'm confident, friendly and not afraid to ask questions. I enjoy working in a range of different work environments, both in groups and individually.
