As the Command Career Counselor (CCC) aboard USS Wasp (LHD 1), I am the ship's Career Information Program (CIP) manager. We have over 1,000 Enlisted Sailors and Commissioned Officers permanently assigned to USS Wasp. My role is to educate, train, and lead a staff of over 50 Career Counselors across 16 departments to support those assigned personnel while also compiling and analyzing retention data for our Commanding Officer.Leadership, critical thinking, interpersonal communication, time management, and research are essential to my success. I am charged with keeping the employees of my company informed of all resources, benefits, programs, and policies in an ever-changing environment. Under my direction, our team receives continuing education regularly and provides superior customer service to their departments and divisions.Beyond the scope of my ship, I was hand-selected to join an elite team to offer continuing education to fellow CCCs across the Mid-Atlantic region. We are responsible for creating an annual training plan and educating the CIP subject-matter experts of over 150 ships, squadrons, and installations. I have personally developed and delivered training to over 200 CCCs in this capacity.I am an influential leader with a deep toolbox. My abilities to navigate and communicate company policies, provide strategic guidance to both employees and senior officials, and lead personnel of diverse experience regardless of size and scope make me a prime human resources or management candidate for your organization.
