Extensive range of technical, client and management experience on a range of mining and infrastructure projects from initial concept stage development through tendering, detailed design and construction. Scale of project and involvement has varied from engagements for minor engineering advice through to managing significant engineering packages and teams on several multi-billion dollar, highly complex and intricate multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects. Key technical skills include underground rock mechanics, geological/geotechnical interpretation and characterisation of soil and rock, laboratory analysis and parameter derivation, engineering risk assessment and recommendations, detailed design numerical modelling, factual and interpretive reporting/drafting. Broad technical areas of practice and experience include soft and hard rock tunneling with multiple excavation methods and approaches, geotechnical structural foundation design (piles, buildings, walls and bridges) including temporary and permanent excavation retention design, mining and civil infrastructure soil and rock slope inspection/advice and remediation as well as general earthworks/specifications and retaining structures associated with linear infrastructure projects.

Responsible for planning and supervising geotechnical, mining and environmental investigations, design and construction management for a variety of Australian and International Projects. Major projects have included packages of the Pacific and Princes Highway Upgrade, North Sydney Freight Corridor, Epping to Thornleigh Third Track, NorthConnex, WestConnex, Bondi Waste Water Treatment Plant.

Site investigation’s of geological and environmental conditions for reporting and design, using various in-situ testing methods including supervision of drilling rigs, logging, testing and assessment.Complex detailed numerical analyses related to engineering foundations, slope stability, and excavation, using a broad range of engineering geotechnical analysis programs such as FLAC, FLAC3D, 3DEC and SLOPEW. Assessment of site stability for retaining walls, cut slopes and tunnels using programs within the RocScience suite, including SWEDGE, UNWEDGE, ROCKLAB and DIPS.Construction supervision including inspections for foundations in soil and rock, installation of temporary and permanent rock anchors for shoring and stability, vibration trials, monitoring and assessment.
