• To lead in the development of an information and knowledge management capability, utilising all resources (paper and electronic) for increased efficiency and greater leverage.• To examine new and future technological developments in order to fully assess their potential value to the firm.• To drive a cultural change programme across the firm to improve and develop efficiency, incorporating new methods of working.• To present knowledge topics in a clear, comprehensive and compelling manner to both an internal and external audience.• To build successful working relationships with third-party knowledge and information providers.• To create strategic knowledge plans and ultimately a KM strategy aligned with firm business objectives.• To champion KM best practise throughout the business, retaining a high profile for the initiative.• To take ultimate responsibility for library management and budgeting for the team.• To articulate the value that knowledge can bring to the business.• To examine new practice management systems with regard to the knowledge management initiative.

The main function of my role was to examine both European and UK legal journals, to provide succinct analysis of articles whilst extracting and hyper-linking key cases and legislation. I also provided summaries of the Official Journal of the European Union OJL (Legislation) and OJC (Information and Notices).I undertook direct enquiry work from customers and other members of the team which involved expert use of the Lawtel database itself along with the organisation’s paper archive. I also created tailored updates for particular customers, all of whom had individual requirements.
