Handled wide array of responsibilities in complex commercial litigation practice, including: • Part of a two-man team: (1) representing client oil operating company against insurer for breach of contract and violations of the Texas Prompt Payment of Claims Act; (2) trying case for client in Houston federal court, including conducting voir dire, examining witnesses, and drafting multiple trial and post-trial motions and briefs; and (3) receiving unanimous jury verdict and entry of judgment awarding client $25.4 million in damages and over $5 million in attorneys'​ fees, expenses, and court costs and denying all relief requested in counterclaim.• Retention as special counsel by client electrical cooperative solely to persuade four primary and excess liability insurers to settle all property damage and bodily injury claims arising out of wildfires allegedly started by client’s downed electrical power lines, where the sum of claimed damages exceeded $400 million. • Obtaining summary judgment for client creditor in bankruptcy adversary proceeding as against debtor asserting violations of the FDCPA arising out of client's filing of a proof of claim outside limitations, and successfully briefing and arguing same on appeal to the 8th Circuit B.A.P., which ruled in favor of client.• Taking multiple depositions in London and New Orleans, overseeing massive e-discovery projects, and preparing for trial in multi-district litigation regarding the April 2010 BP Gulf oil spill.• Litigating multi-million dollar tort, bankruptcy, and adversary proceeding in the state and federal courts of New York and the Delaware bankruptcy court, saving client tens of millions of dollars sought in clawback action. • Defending client restaurateur in breach of contract action in which transactional law firm made mutual mistake in preparation of underlying contract, and persuading transactional firm to fund client’s defense, with all claims against client being dismissed at no cost to client.

• Obtained full dismissal of all claims, including claims of civil rights violations, against client in Oklahoma federal court pursuant to a motion to dismiss and briefing.• Garnered multi-million dollar settlement for former company shareholders in breach of contract claim in Chicago federal court.

• Handled prosecution of complex medical malpractice caseload including obstetrical and surgical malpractice.• In charge of § 1983 prisoner abuse case regarding homicide of prisoner in the Navarro County Jail.

• Assisted law professors, students, attorneys, and pro se litigants in legal research, including state and federal legislative history, international law, and administrative law.

• First-chaired 14 jury trials in Dallas and Fort Worth.• Oversaw individual docket of over 100 personal injury litigation files, including investigation, taking and defending depositions, attending mediations with full authority to settle, drafting and answering discovery, and arguing motions before various courts.
