Employed as an important member of the grounds and maintenance crew for the past two seasons. Took on many roles and responsibilities vital to the day to day operations of the golf course such as; pin placement, greens rolling and cutting, aerating, tee box preparation, and path maintenance. Working at kokanee springs was great in that we all came together nicely as a team to accomplish a common goal of making the golf course beautiful and in peak condition.

I was employed as a QC Technician and Chemical Blender in a chemical warehouse and manufacturing facility that blended and shipped chemical products to the oil fields of Alberta. This position required me to test samples of blended products for proper specifications before they could be transported. Properties such as pH, density, and suspended solids were tested. Aside from my QC duties, I was also responsible for blending chemicals in a 16,000L vessel. The blending apparatus contained many valves, gauges, lines, and pumps. Attention to detail was very important. The finished product required the use of a forklift which I operated on a daily basis.PPE was also very important in this workplace since many of the chemicals were toxic and acidic. Show less
