​Scottish Regional and UK National Judge for the F1 in Schools project.Developed to introduce students to STEM subjects in the most engaging way possible – through the creation of a miniature F1 car – F1 in Schools is an educational project like no other. Designed for teachers, informed by engineers, and endorsed by F1, this programme sets students on the fast track to STEM success; and provides a lot of fun on the way.Spanning age ranges of 9 to 19, the main objective of the competition is to help change the perceptions of #science, #technology, #engineering and #maths by creating a fun and exciting learning environment for young people to develop an informed view about #careers in #engineering, #Formula1, #science, #marketing and #technology. Teams of students must raise sponsorship and manage budgets to fund research, travel and accommodation. The challenge inspires students to use IT to learn about #physics, #aerodynamics, #design, #manufacture, #branding, #graphics, #sponsorship, #marketing, #leadership, #teamwork, #media skills and financial strategy, and apply them in a practical, imaginative, competitive and exciting way.There is always a need for volunteer judges to support both the local and national events. This involved planning, co-ordinating and reviewing the implementation of policies, processes and procedures that would improve the quality of services provided by over 5,000 social work staff to 18,000 service users.
