My career passions live at the intersection of quality engineering and the domain models of applied computing research. I thrive in environments that require architecting robust and scalable solutions to complex problems. My background in the areas of scientific computing, image processing, computational geometry, visualization, and data science have provided a foundation to work on an extremely diverse and exciting set of projects over the years, both in academia and industry. Meanwhile, working on Mobile and SaaS products has given me an appreciation and passion for cloud architecture and distributed system design that I strive to infuse in all of my work. At Google, I had the pleasure of working on the Google Slides project, among others. This was a transformative experience in my career, working on a product I love with high caliber colleagues and a product user-base in the hundreds of millions. Along with many great memories, I took away from this experience a wealth of knowledge of best-practices and design-thinking that have influenced every project that I’ve worked on since. At Lucid, I’m immensely proud to have been a technical lead on the founding team of the Cloud Insights product. This product transforms the painful task of Cloud Architecture management into a visual and data-backed diagramming platform. While a few competitors have a head start in this area, I believe Cloud Insights has extraordinary potential, and if executed well, could easily become the industry standard as it continues to grow in fidelity. Working on large complex projects and alongside colleagues of extraordinary talent has also given me a real appreciation for the softer human skills of development. Engineering leadership and organizational culture can have a profound impact on the success of any organization. It’s a quality that I now look for in any new opportunity, and also something I strive to help build wherever I go. At this point in my career, I see the foundations of knowledge-work and data-driven platforms as some of the most exciting areas to work in, along with personal-data tracking, ownership, privacy, and protection.
