A storyteller with proven results influencing a variety of audiences to desired outcomes.From creative director to content manager, producer, editor, videographer, spokesperson, copywriter, broadcast anchor, reporter, commercial producer, college professor, and event emcee, I’ve filled multiple communication roles in broadcast, education, sports and government organizations for more than 20 years.I'm a 2x Emmy award-winning creator who excels at delivering clear, effective messaging of complicated topics.Currently, I serve as video producer for the Southern Nevada Water Authority where I create and oversee video communications for more than 2 million people who call the Las Vegas Valley home.One of my proudest accomplishments is creating and building the sports journalism program at UNLV. From 2015-2020, I managed the content platform called the "Rebel Report" which provides real-world experience for students looking for careers in sports media. The program has trained hundreds of students-turned-professionals since its inception. I continue to serve UNLV as an adjunct professor and I love staying in touch with my former students who are in media positions all over the country.Before that, I traveled the West as a sports anchor and reporter for local news stations in Las Vegas, south Texas and Wyoming.My communication philosophy stands on narrative storytelling that uses emotion to influence a desired outcome. Overwhelming an audience with facts and information can lead to confusion, and confusion leads to disengagement. We know they’re just scrolling to the next piece of content that they don't have to work so hard to understand.I’m also a proud cancer survivor. In 2015, I was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called ‘neuroendocrine’, and I’ve served as Nevada's Lead Ambassador for the American Cancer Society's Cancer Action Network (ACSCAN) from 2020 to 2022. I love speaking to federal, state and local legislators about the importance of cancer legislation and funding. I used my video production background to increase the visibility of ACSCAN Nevada locally and nationally.I’m available for freelance opportunities as a host, emcee, sports reporter and field producer.
