• Appointed in 2011 and 2015 by Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton to join the Metropolitan Council, the metropolitan planning organization (MPO) for the Minneapolis-Saint Paul region. In this role:
• Represented an urban district of 180,000 constituents
• Engaged directly in construction, safety and operation of the Green Line LRT, now serving an average of more than one million riders per month, and in management of Metro Transit, the region's primary transit service.
• Played a prominent role in the development of the Thrive MSP 2040 regional plan
• Served as Chair of the Community Development Committee, Land Use Advisory Committee (LUAC), and as a member of the Transportation committee
