I was appointed to lead AECOM's Project, Cost and Consultancy business in London. The role was to provide leadership to support the businesses strategy to expand the business across the commercial, residential, retail, public administration, health and education sectors.

I was appointed Head of Energy with a remit to develop a new sector within Davis Langdon. The role is to expand the businesses experience and activities in the sector and to manage the delivery of major projects and to provide strategic utility and energy advice to clients. A turnover of £1.5 million has been established for the 2010/11 financial period with predicted turnover for 2011/12 of £2.5 million. The team now operates across the sector providing cost and project management, development management and tax and finance advice to clients.

I was appointed Head of Engineering Services within Davis Langdon, the organisations specialist engineering services cost and project management consultant team. The role had responsibility for the strategic management of the service across the UK, Europe and the Middle East. During my tenure the turnover within engineering services rose from £ 6 million to £ 10 million with a team of 75 specialist engineering cost and project management consultants engaged under my direct management.My biggest success whilst in this role was the development of a business sponsored, four year in-house trainee development programme focused on specialist engineering services. This programme is now producing degree qualified engineering services cost consultants. Member of the Management Board Davis Langdon LLP 2003-2008In parallel to my role in engineering services I was a member of the European and Middle East businesses Management Board. The Boards role was to set the strategy for the business and ensure that the strategy was managed through to completion. During this period the businesses income and market reputation rose significantly.I was also involved in numerous internal committees chairing the Business Development and IT steering groups and was responsible for the successful management of the development and deployment of the businesses bespoke Best Practice and EDMS software platform Pinnacle.

Following the merger of Mott Green and Wall with Davis Langdon and Everest I became a Partner within the engineering services team. The MGW team were amalgamated with the incumbent engineering services specialists to form a 40 strong team.I was responsible for the supervision and technical management of all aspects of the engineering service offer within the practice, with particular emphasis on feasibility studies, cost planning, procurement and value engineering across the UK.

Mott Green and Wall were a specialist engineering services cost consultancy particularly focused on the commercial office and retail sectors. The consultancy had an exceptional brand and reputation particularly in the London market.I was responsible for the supervision and technical management of all aspects of the engineering service offer, with particular emphasis on feasibility studies, cost planning, procurement, value engineering and post contract activities.I also had responsibility for a number of the firm's key clients ensuring that we delivered our appointments to the highest standards, helping to maintain repeat business at proportion of 80% of turnover.

My role was to carry out a complete range of cost consultant services from cost planning activities through to settlement of final accounts. During this period I also managed a small team of support staff.

My primary function as a senior surveyor was to prepare the procurement of services works packages and carry out post contract duties to the conclusion of the final account.

During this period I was given the very best support in terms of surveying principles, a fundamental grounding in engineering services, spending a good proportion of my time surveying and measuring installations on site.
