As the library's sole IT resource, I am responsible for ensuring uptime and security of our networks and infrastructure. I have also introduced automation and modernized several aspects of our infrastructure to improve efficiency and performance.My projects have included:• Migrated web server from on-prem Ubuntu with Apache to Oracle Cloud to eliminate downtime for patrons and staff during local outages or maintenance. • Built a cloud based DNS server on BIND to make DNS redundant and reduce server downtime during updates. • Integrated automated tests consisting of a link checker (Python script) and vulnerability scanner using snyk.io with Jenkins CI/CD integrations, with changes automatically deployed to production upon successful tests.• Implemented Ansible to automate updates of mission critical workstations and configuration of public workstations. • Evaluated, selected, and implemented server monitoring stack (PRTG using SNMP PS/WMI/winRM) to collect uptime statistics, patch levels, outage reporting, and tracking print services / supply ordering. • Implemented network segregation using both physical and logical methods to secure both staff and patron communications.• Deployed a mesh wireless network to facilitate a seamless user experience throughout the facility.• Implemented MSP360 backups to a TrueNAS storage device with regular health checks dependent on data criticality resulting in an RPO of <8 hours and an RTO of 3 hours maximum.• Leveraged Lighthouse to identify website vulnerabilities and performance issues. Modified web code, updated image file types, introduced alt text, and introduced caching and indexing, leading to 93.6% improvement in speed and loading metrics. • Evaluate, selected, implemented, and configured ManageEngine RMM to increase observability, reliability, and efficiency.• Recovered vital resources from a ransomware attack by end of business day 1 and restored full functionality without loss by day 3.

• Created desktop / server configuration baseline for staff and patron workstation environments. • Performed the Windows 7 to Windows 10 upgrade rollout for all workstation at the facility • Facilitated and performed the upgrade of critical software after usability and integration testing • Performed routine maintenance, updates, and break / fix on an as needed basis
