Hi, I'm Jonathan and I am passionate about all things Machine Learning. My particular area of expertise is Deep Reinforcement Learning. You'll typically find me trying to develop and use algorithms which enable agents (or robots) to learn effective behaviours for complex tasks (e.g. chess, warehouse automation, or maintenance planning).Currently, I am a post-doc at Chalmers University of Technology under the supervision of Prof. Moa Johansson. Together, we explore topics on the intersection of symbolic AI and Deep Reinforcement Learning. The intersection of these two areas is encompassed within (and sometimes referred to as) Neuro-Symbolic AI. We are particularly interested in cooperative multi-agent settings where agents may benefit from the opportunity to develop, improve and utilise a language. Prior to this, I completed my PhD in 2023 at the University of Bristol under the supervision of Prof. Robert Piechocki and Prof. Raúl Santos-Rodriguez. My thesis is titled 'Towards Cooperative Multi-Agent Reinforcement Learning in Industrial Domains'. Within this, I explored the challenges and opportunities that arise through utilising multi-agent reinforcement learning for distributed control problems in sectors like telecommunications and logistics.I am a UK citizen with full working rights in Australia, I am actively seeking roles in Australia beginning in early 2025.
