Managing a biology department, delivering a small molecule portfolio (>10 projects) from target validation through to efficacy with strong disease rationale. Responsible for a team of 30 scientists across 2 sites (London and Cambridge) and lead of the DNA Damage Repair Alliance. Established key collaborations across the UK and Europe to deliver biological rationale required for project progression.

Built the oncology pharmacology team to deliver critical in vivo studies across a range of mechanisms, including angiogenesis, immunotherapy and direct tumour targeting. Led scientific projects through preclinical evaluation across the oncology portfolio and supported target validation experiments. Broadened the range of preclinical models validated internally and set up multiple collaborations to access complex models.

Developing and profiling a lead candidate for modulation of Multidrug Resistance Protein 1 (MRP1) in cancer. Establishing xenograft and metastasis models to differentiate lead candidates and support clinical route.
