Our core aim at Foster Group has been and always will be to impact people’s lives for the better. Most often, we accomplish this through the financial planning process, education, and investment advice. But sometimes, “impacting lives for the better” involves serving our clients in other ways, such as: lining up a contractor to fix a leaky roof, organizing a bike ride to raise money for an orphanage in Africa, or helping pick up the pieces after a loved one’s passing. I believe that we are called to step into the lives of our clients to assist, to guide, and to listen. This is a privilege not taken lightly and one that motivates me every day. When I’m away from work, my family is my primary focus. My wife and I have three kids who keep us plenty busy and always on our toes. I also enjoy leading worship in our church, tackling projects around our home, and anything in the outdoors. One of my favorite quotes is from Charles R. Swindoll: “Life is 10 percent what happens to you and 90 percent how you react to it.” I’ve learned that we often have two choices in tough situations: we can resent our circumstances and let them define us, or we can choose to learn from what’s happened and positively move forward.
