I specialize in Smoke Control and Access Solutions, providing advice and specifications to Architects, M&E Consultants, Building Control and Fire Officers for both the New Build and Refurbishment markets. I provide Fire Strategies, Cause & Effect charts, detailed specifications, working drawings and wiring schematics for each specific project. I also deliver Continuous Product Development ‎(CPD) seminars providing guidance on planning and design, installation and commissioning of smoke controls systems. I draw on expertise from our team of Fire Engineers, CFD modellers, CAD designers, technicians and electrical engineers to provide these services. We draw on documents such as Approved Document B, BS 9999, BS 9991, BS 7346, which give legal requirements and good practice guidance. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modelling may be required to prove or determine specific or complex schemes.‎Controls maybe complex and are often interfaced with Fire, Security and Door Access systems. The products used must be compliant with, and certified to, relevant standards such as BS EN 12101-2, 9 & 10, for smoke control and BS4211:2008 for Access Hatches and Ladders. We manufacture and stock ‎certified products for both smoke ventilation and access systems enabling a fast delivery from the largest certified size range in the UK.I am passionate about providing best practice and practical solutions that enable contracts to be designed, installed & commissioned in accordance with BS 7346 part 8. I provide training for contractors in installation and commissioning within our steadily growing out Approved Installer network. When I joined Whitesales in July 1994, my job role initially was incoming sales, quoting, order taking and processing and Transport coordination. As the business grew, I progressed to larger project sales involving site surveys, design, specification and quotations. Further expansion saw me tending to focus on management of the projects sales team, sales systems, and setting up and reporting to management. Finally, in the last three years I have been mainly involved in overall sales growth management. My main role includes, Business Development Manager for larger clients, development of new products, advising on industry requirements and legislation and consultancy to the sales team. I now focus on maintaining client relationships particularly in the Smoke & Access Division of the company.• Product development has included PVC extrusions, comfort ventilation systems, thermally broken frames, and Smoke Ventilation.• Knowledge of industry legislation has involved managing product updates to comply with requirements, writing of white papers and company policy, and staff training.• Sales successes include securing large partnership supply chains with blue chip companies, large individual projects such as Railway stations, schools, apartments and MOD properties, and the development of particular markets including New Build Glazing and Smoke and Access.• Other duties over the years have been, involvement in the Senior Management Team, assisting Marketing with product literature, and supervising site installation teams.

Employed at Buildspan, Camberley, a distributor of specialist construction material to the concrete industry. The role included inbound sales calls, quotations, order taking and outbound calls to follow up enquiries.
