The whole business runs on bespoke software I built from the ground up. We call it CORE and it enables twelve people to manage over 500 customers, 1500 sites, and over 3000 individual waste collections. Not only does this reduce our costs, but it allows us to concentrate on things like incredible customer service, whilst still having time for a game of ping pong on a Friday afternoon!Unsurprisingly, being a director in a small company, my role also includes managing all of our marketing and new business activity. Tangy Media was my first foray into the business world. The company provided web design and development services to small businesses in the South West. In 2009, after realising I enjoyed the technical side of the web, I decided to leave Tangy in the capable hands of my business partner and moved on to start Candid a front for my contract work for agencies and software development houses.
