As a veterinary support staff at the Headon Forest Animal Hospital, my responsibilities vary from assisting the veterinarian in consultations to assisting the veterinary technicians in executing their tasks on a day-to-day basis.

The Guelph Humane Society offers a summer camp program to children (Grade 1-8) and provide opportunities to learn about animals, play games and have special guests come in to share their experiences working with animals. Ranging from wildlife rescue to animal service officers, each guest provided a unique insight in to the care of animals and I was responsible for leading and guiding them through the days activities over the summer.My co-counsellors and volunteers were also vital to the success of the camp, and interacting with the kids and inspiring them to see the joys of learning and working with animals was an enjoyable experience over my summer break!
