Superfast Business Cornwall (SFBC) is a new service for SMEs across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly that aims to boost business competitiveness through increased understanding and exploitation of digital technology. The service offers SMEs, start–ups and social enterprises a tailored programme of high quality information, advice, and digital skills development. Match funding is available to enable or accelerate digital transformational projects.My role of Digital Business Adviser is to provide extensive diagnostic, advice, support and guidance for businesses in Cornwall to help them grow using digital technologies. I will provide on-going advisory support at a strategic and practical level, digital technology expertise and help with procurement/supplier sourcing to successfully implement the digital technology project and drive the business development requirements forward.

Within this role I advise businesses on how to improve their internet presence, be that within the the search engines, social media, email marketing, etcI have helped businesses to cut cost and increase their overall position within Google, for the key terms they wish to rank well for.I have also run numerous Internet Marketing workshops, of varying levels, to around 50 businesss per session and these have been very popular and have generated a lot of interest.

Receive enquires via telephone / e mail and diagnose customer needs; provide comprehensive information, enquiry, research and brokerage service; proactive provision of information to customers; quality management of CRM; promote Business Link services where possible. I am Also the tourism specialist on the team.

The main priorties were to write and analyse management reports and statistics on a weekly and monthly basis. The figures that I came up with were used in the monthly, quarterly and annual financial accounts. I also managed and analysed a Government run scheme called GVA, handling the data that came in for Devon and Cornwall. I would advice external and internal advisers on how and when to collect GVA. Whilst doing this, I set up many spreadsheets and databases to manage this information. I also helped train and coach other members of staff.

Temporary work for an agency working mostly in office environments. During this time I have worked for a cross section of businesses. I have gained a lot of experience in accounting, filing, data entry, talking to clients on the telephone and other office work. I have an excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and also many different database programs, such as Pivotal Customer Relationship Manager.

In this role I was responsible for four members of staff, many volunteers and hundreds of children. I planned and carried out daily sporting and art events to ensure that the children had fun on the scheme. I ran coaching programmes for many different sports, making sure that they were fun but would help develop the children's skills and knowledge. I enjoyed this role immensely but it was, unfortunately, only for the summer holidays.Other tasks included cashing up, registering the children, carrying out stock takes and ensuring the health and safety of participants, volunteers and staff.
