    For the Indian Health Service (IHS), I create software that generates suggested reimbursement codes based on rules that correlate clinical codes (findings, medications, procedures, etc.), patient record visit information, and reimbursement codes. I organize this content into the Apelon DTS knowledge base and deploy it to the provider sites, into their Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. By rigorously encoding the record, we promote complete and precise clinical data recording, targeted decision support alerts, and highly accurate automated coding for claims and reimbursements.I have been told by the Federal Lead for IHS that "by the disciplined engineering approach that I apply, my small team's productivity is magnified tenfold". I won the IHS Director's award in the year I introduced the approach.
