My time as a postdoctoral scholar was devoted to completing the research projects that had been initiated during my graduate work. This included preparing manuscripts for publication, delivering multiple seminars and presentations, and initiating and developing a collaborative project with a local pharmaceutical company.

The Biomedical Sciences Program provided a unique and challenging training environment where I have learned to integrate biochemistry and cell biology. The clinical training I acquired from the Med-into-Grad Initiative introduced me to several concepts that most biomedical researchers do not get to experience and provided a strong clinical foundation. Through this program, I was able to have daily interactions with attending physicians, medical residents, pharmacists, and nurses, which gave me the insight into how hospitals and medical clinics function. Furthermore, I attended Grand Rounds in General Medicine, Grand Rounds for the multiple subdivisions and case conferences. These seminars and case conferences detailed the emerging diagnostics and therapeutics for patients and highlighted the unmet needs in each disease area.
