The original VEO app was developed in collaboration with business partner Paul Miller in response to a growing need for a simple tool to help people get better at what they do through self reflection and peer coaching. The application of the tool in other areas came about quickly as companies, clinicians and other professionals realised the value of video in CPD, personal and process audit, monitoring and assessment. VEO pulls together data and video to help inform, educate and improve both systems, processes and people. My experience of teaching, coaching and mentoring and initial teacher training provided the underpinning knowledge and awareness of the challenges faced in professional development. Through my personal interest in, and proficient use of, ICT in the workplace, I was keen to utilise existing technologies to develop a tool and system to provide individuals with the opportunity to improve their own professional practice through peer and self review and reflection.www.veo-group.com

I developed a strong teaching and learning style, frequently receiving Good and Outstanding judgements for observed lessons. I successfully led the science team through periods of considerable change and enabled the department to improve the experience and results of our students. This was through a combination of effective scrutiny of teaching + learning standards in the classroom, analysis of student data + the formulation + delivery of specific student based + department wide interventions.As head of the science department I took responsibility for the mentoring of NQTs + ITTs. I became familiar with the teaching standards and the qualities expected, and helped many colleagues and trainees develop their skills and pedagogy by providing helpful, constructive and effective advice and sharing ideas from my own good practice.With a genuine love of teaching and science, and a keen interest in helping others develop their teaching & learning skills, I was keen to use proven innovations in my own practice to support and share good practice. Roles:Leadership and management of the science department;Provision and development of the science curriculum across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5;Production, monitoring and completion of the annual Science Development Plan;Monitoring, tracking, assessment and development of student progress in science;Provision and supervision of the performance management of a team of 9 teaching staff, and 3 technicians;Science teaching to Key Stages 3 and 4 in all disciplines (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) including OCR / BTec Vocational Sciences and A Level Biology and B-Tec Science Level 3;Coordination and running of in-house CPD sessions for colleagues across the college;Mentoring and coaching of NQTs and ITTs within the Science department.

Writing and submission of tenders for local authority waste and environmental management contracts across the UK;Management and coordination of a team of consultants, development executives and admin staff in the completion and production of the waste and environmental management tenders, including operational profiling and costing.Scientific research and development of waste treatment and disposal, and environmental strategies;On site data collection and analysis of landfill gas production;Completion of environmental quality reports.
