Diesel Technician | Shop Manager | Breakdown Coordinator
CurrentResponsibilities include:Proficiently manage shop budget.Proficiently repair and diagnose Gas and Diesel Engines.Proficiently repair and troubleshoot major components such as transmissions and differentials.Perform all levels of preventive maintenance services such as changing oil, checking batteries on truck, trailers, and forklifts.Diagnose and repair of Brake systems including ABS, Suspension systems (spring and air).Test drive, diagnose, and perform component replacement and adjustment when needed.Trace and repair electrical systems including starters and alternators, HVAC systems, Steering systems, Electronics to include ECM's, ECU's, and sensors.Efficiently repair and diagnose power train including differentials, transmissions, clutches, drive shafts, PTO's and wheel ends.Road test vehicles when necessary to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly.Experience with hand tools including screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists.Identify, track, and record maintenance records.Computer skills for data entry into maintenance systems.Manage team of 3-4 technicians.Ensure quality control.Maintain shop environmental requirements given by city and state.Oversee shop procedures and operations.Fulfill orderly paper work.Perform technician training.Efficiently plan jobs and delegate work accordingly.Communicate with vendors and customers.Conduct part inventory.Experience working all shifts.Coordinate fleet road calls and communicate necessary repairs.Ensure federal, city, state laws and DOT standards are followed.Capable of working independently in shop or in the field without direct supervision.Ability to multitask while being detail and deadline-oriented.Review technicians repairs and follow safety guidelines.OSHA compliant.Ensure a safe and clean work atmosphere.
