Geoscientist team member that worked on OOIP, unitization, CO2 flood design, implementation, and reservoir management. Log analysis of all modern logs. Did the preliminary structural geophysical interpretation of initial 3-D. Collaborated with others on later 4-D data sets and building a geomodel. Consulted for other teams as requested. Was promoted from Sr. Geologist to Technical Expert as result of willingness to contribute outside my circle of responsibility. Accomplishments• Key member of a technical team that met time and budget goals while executing Oyster Bayou Field Unit CO2 flood. Unit went from producing 100 BOPD to over 7000 BOPD and currently nearing 7 million CO2 BO. • Architect of the phase 2 where well spacing and placement was based on formation analysis and mapped sand channels, which were validated by data from 25 new wells. Results exceeded economic projections by 150%.• Saved Denbury over $2 million in phase 2 drilling program by eliminating a string of casing. With facts, I convinced management the risk of shallow gas was non-existent. Also stopped a proposed directional program yielding cost savings on all operations in the now vertical wells. • Formulated a comprehensive field wide formation evaluation plan for each of the phases of drilling Oyster Bayou to achieve good data distribution at low cost; including a whole core, increasing the certainty of reservoir characterization. • Initiated a mentoring program taking new engineers and geologists to the wellsite to understand how open-hole logging should be managed to control costs, operation risks, safety, and data quality. • Part of a team that defended Denbury Conroe Unit from having hazardous waste disposal well in unit. Generated original exhibits with clear testimony at the hearings with the TECQ and the Texas RRC, resulting in Texcom being denied.
