A Child and Family Investigator is called as an investigative arm of the Court. I have acquired the specialized education and training necessary to serve as Child and Family Investigator. I have considerable, excellent experience serving as a CFI to ensure that the interests of children are protected in divorce actions as well as in post decree situations. A Child and Family Investigator is appointed for the child by the court and reports directly to the court on the child's best interests. I have special training in child development and mental health. I am appointed either by agreement of the parties or Court Order as soon as it becomes evident that parents cannot agree on parenting issues. In the role of Child and Family Investigator, I provide a report to the court with my findings and can also be called as a witness at a hearing.
