Joni Evans’ 45-plus year career in publishing includes serving as President and Publisher of Simon & Schuster, and Publisher at Random House. After leaving her positions as publishers, she moved to become the Senior VP of the William Morris Agency’s literary department, where she repped such bestselling authors as Fannie Flagg, Quincy Jones, Mary Wells Lawrence, Peggy Noonan, James Patterson, Liz Smith, Roone Arledge, Marcia Clark and John Stossel. In her dynamic career she has brought over 100 books to the bestseller list. In 2008, along with Liz Smith, Mary Wells Lawrence and Lesley Stahl, Joni co-founded a digital publishing venture...a website for women called wowOwow.com. It has since morphed into purewow.com, and is now part of the Gallery Media Group and grown to over 15 million subscribers. Joni is a member of the Young President’s Organization, the Women’s Forum and a founding member of both the Committee of 200 and Women’s Media Group. She has served as a director of the Dreyfus Fund for 31 years. She has written for the New York Times, The Washington Post, Vanity Fair, New York and O Magazine. Joni is the recipient of Springboard Enterprises Northstar Entrepreneur Award, 2010, the recipient of the "Lizzie Award" presented to her by Literacy Partners in 2018, and was named "The Woman of the Year" by the Women’s Media Group in 2020. Joni lives with her husband, Bob Perkins, and her Bearded Collie, Callie (short for Callaway), in Westchester County, NY.
