Osteopathy is a holistic form of manual medicine, which focuses on total body healthcare. Osteopaths do not simply concentrate on treating the problem area, but use techniques to balance all the systems of the body to positively influence health and wellbeing. This provides the body with the opportunity to better heal itself, preventing further dysfunction and promoting total body efficiency and health.Jonine practices both structural Osteopathy and Osteopathy in the cranial field (aka Cranio-sacral therapy) and likes to employ a combination of both forms of Osteopathy in her treatments.Jonine trained in Auckland, New Zealand and holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Human Biology) and a Masters in Osteopathy, where she earnt a clinical grade of Distinction. Since graduating in 2004, Jonine has worked in both private osteopathic and multidisciplinary clinics alongside massage therapists, naturopaths and kinesiologists in Auckland, NZ before moving to London where she was based for over two years, working alongside chiropodists, physiotherapists, dentists and other osteopaths. Jonine believes a holistic approach is essential for accurate diagnosis and treatment, not only to improve range of motion or for pain resolution but also to allow the body to fully benefit from its own recuperative power. She enjoys treating a diverse range of patients and complaints and has experience treating the mentally challenged and disabled. Jonine has a special interest in treating pregnancy related complaints and pediatric osteopathy which originally brought her to Matilda Medical Centre. She also lectures at Mother and Baby groups and is published in Pre-Mo, a monthly Japanese pregnancy magazine, as well as in the Chinese 'EugeneGroup' Pregancy Magazine.
