The need for independence and freedom is the primary driver of an increase in entrepreneurial activity. In 2020, 2.8 Million more micro-businesses started than in the prior year. According to a Venture Forward 2021 survey, many of these new ventures fall into the category of micro-businesses. The estimate is that there are 45 million micro-businesses in the US. Around half of these are run by a single person – or “solopreneurs”. In August of 2021, 4.3 million Americans quit their jobs, as part of the period known as 'The Great Resignation'. Headlines and stats like these show that we have entered a completely new business environment. As we came out of the lockdown, many emerged with a renewed sense of purpose. The response for many has been an increased willingness to act, to pursue a completely new way of organizing their lives. We are excited about partnering with solopreneurs and micro-businesses who want to share their unique talents, ideas, and solutions with the world. If any of this describes you or if you are one of the 45% of working Americans who have a secondary income, a side-hustle, I would love to hear from you.
