Have you ever looked at a piece of art and connected with it on a personal level? Wondering the experiences and the interactions the artist had when they thought of it and created the piece of art. As a UI/UX designer and artist I take my experiences from my past to develop my work – in oil and pixels – giving a window into connecting with my work. I am an empathetic designer that considers the user as a proponent of my designs. I aim to create memorable experiences that spark delight, while being visually smart and intuitive. My background in Life Sciences has given me a strong understanding of research practices and how to apply to them to analyzing human interaction and behaviour. This offers a strong handle on how problem-solve solutions to design problems. It also has a hand in how I develop user flows, personas, and journey maps, all of which builds empathy.My attention to detail and background in Fine Art are key to my ability as an interface designer. I have a strong sense of color theory from my rigorous training in art. As a contemporary artist I consider the medium as being the message and the strength of the work lies within what it is built upon, pixels, lines and shapes in the case of UX/UI. Now this is a lot of art talk, and it sounds convoluted and stuck-up – I know, I’m not a fan of art speak too – I swear I’m not either of those. I am is someone who is determined to make great experiences. I am caring, compassionate, and considerate. I enjoy staying active and trying new things, be it food, extracurriculars (lately aerial arts), or travelling to new places.
