I love to work in the digital world using technologies that people interact with every day.
I strongly believe that any meaningful user experience design is centred around human behaviour.
All the way from gathering insights and doing customer interviews to mapping out customer journeys, prototyping and doing experiments is an essential part of the journey to creating great experiences.Once I have that, my practice is to try to execute that journey into a digital design and into code that works across most modern devices you carry with you in todays world.
One of the challenges I always face as a Creative Technologist is, what if you only have a mobile device, the size of your palm - how can you transcend the same feeling and experience with a web design compared to a big desktop screen that is the size of a regular size painting? Just imagine if Van Gogh was asked to only use a canvas the size of 6 inches. How would his work has turned out?Going back to the original question. The answer is that you can’t replicate it 1:1 no matter how hard you try.
However you can instead use the opportunity to focus of the essentionals and core of your message. Be specific and get to the point. Ask yourself, what is the most important thing people need to feel, know or see? Maximise your effort there and you will be off to creating a great experience and something that ultimately your client and customers will love using.
