Jon L. Kinning co-owns RK Industries, LLC. a Colorado-based mechanical contracting and manufacturing company celebrating 59 years (since 1963) in business. RK Industries is recognized as one of the top five family-owned businesses in Colorado and the largest mechanical contracting company in the State and has completed projects border-to-border and several projects overseas. The company employs 1,800 and has five facilities approaching 400,000 square feet on 40 acres in Denver, Aurora, Henderson, and Salt Lake City, plus satellite offices in Colorado Springs and Vail. Additionally, Jon oversees all strategic planning for 7 business units (Mechanical, Service, Steel, Energy, Water, Electrical, and Mission Critical) and has direct oversight for finance, human resources, supply chain management, legal, safety, facilities, and technology.Prior to coming back to RK, Jon worked as a Broker for CB Richard Ellis. In addition to his role at RK, Jon also serves as Managing Partner for Kinning Holdings, a real estate holding company established in 2000. Jon is the President of the RK Foundation which was founded in 2011 to support the communities where RK does work.Jon is an active member of the Colorado Chapter of the Young Presidents Organization, a current member of the Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce Executive Committee, the Metropolitan State University of Denver Foundation Board, The Colorado Forum, University of Colorado - Johnson Depression Center Advisory Board, Colorado Succeeds - Board of Trustees, cofounded the Green and Gold Foundation benefiting Colorado State University and serves on several other education-focused boards.Jon grew up in Norfolk, Nebraska until 1986 when his family moved to Arvada, Colorado. He moved to Denver after college and continues to reside there. Jon has two adult children and enjoys playing hockey, snow skiing, dirt biking, travel, running and golf.
