About Jon Lebrun
I am a production sound mixer and location sound recordist based out of Ottawa, Ontario. I started my career in 2003 working in the music industry, but soon found a passion for audio production in television and film. I spent the next 7 years learning from some of the industry's leading sound engineers, working at a variety of studios and broadcasters in Toronto including CTV and TSN.After working in audio post production, I made the decision to venture out and specialize in location sound mixing and recording. I was immediately hooked on the filming process and was excited to be a part of the production as it was being created. After spending many years inside a studio, I felt it was a breath of fresh air to work out on location, meeting new people every day, filming interesting and exciting content, and travelling the world.Having experience on both sides of production has given me a new appreciation for sound, and has enabled me to approach new projects with a different mindset. Whether it's a feature film, documentary or TV series, I try to ask myself "would I be happy mixing this in post?". If the answer is no, then I do everything in my power to fix the situation and improve the quality of the sound being recorded.I have had the privilege of working all over the world from Africa to New Zealand, working on a variety of documentaries, feature films and dramatic TV series.
