Led a turnaround effort that included implementing a five year strategic plan, instituting a long-term financial plan, improving the organization’s governance structure, growing membership and expanding and improving the member services provided by the organization.- Grew PTAA’s core membership 18% and affiliate membership has grown 35%.- Led PTAA’s government affairs efforts on the local, state and national level. Included representing member interests in all local municipalities, building collaborative relationships with other real estate related trade associations and leading delegations to Raleigh and Washington, DC to meet with legislators on behalf of the apartment industry.-Worked with an ad-hoc sub-committee to research and design a long term financial plan that was adopted unanimously by the PTAA board of directors. - Led the development of a new strategic communication initiative to improve member communication and public relations. This included the redesign of the organization’s magazine, the development of an organizational blog, launch of PTAA’s social media presence on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter, and the publishing of an executive email newsletter. In 2011 the organization received the National Apartment Association’s Paragon Award for Communications. • Managed PTAA’s move into new office space. Doubled the training capacity for all seminars and classes, provided space for an online learning center and in the process negotiated 11 months rent-free on the front end of the lease which effectively negated 50% of the capital expenses related to the move. -Association Executive member of NAA’s Conference Growth Task Force, tasked with identifying growth strategies for NAA’s largest revenue generating events.- In 2014 was elected Secretary of the National Apartment Association’s Affiliate Executive Council, the leadership body comprised of chief staff executives from NAA’s 170 affiliate organizations.

Managed the advertising sales for SCIP's publications and website; sold exhibit space and sponsorship packages for all SCIP events, including the annual tradeshow, European Expo and seminars; provided onsite management of exhibit hall, golf event and sponsor events at all SCIP events. Grew event revenue by 50% over five years. Responsible for managing SCIP's relationships with members of its vendor community.

Led the development of a consulting service in Northern Virginia targeted towards small enterprises. Clients included a local symphony, online publishers and small nonprofit organizations.

Started online publishing division for a business-to-business healthcare publisher. Redesigned the company’s website, built ecommerce capability, developed email newsletters and established SEO strategies. Within a year the division was generating 10% of the business’ gross revenue.

Launched the newsletters "Relationship Marketing Report" and "Business-to-Business Sales & Marketing Report”; signed strategic distribution partners in the US, Canada and England; launched "CEO Roundtables" for small business owners; worked with local law firm to design a series of educational events targeting small business owners.
