Providing specialized strategic engineering support necessary to transition DOD agencies and departments from legacy TDM based DSN services to emerging IP based Unified Capabilities (UC) services being deployed by the Defense Information Systems Agency. Scope includes VVoIP, Unified Messaging and UC enabled audio and video conferencing solutions. Developed a Telecommunications Situational Awareness Management solution that delivers fault, security, E911, configuration and expense management within a UC architecture. Re-engineering legacy Navy BLII solutions to support UC.Currently supporting DISA SD & DOD CIO with Unified Capabilities project management and strategy initiatives.Past support provided to PEO C4I (PMW790), PEO EIS (PMW205), SPAWAR 5.0, FCC10FLT, OPNAV N2N6F1, DDCIO(N) and DONCIO offices.Other support has included the development of a NETOPS solution in response to the USAF NETCENTS II solicitation, and the engineering of a WiMAX network for an DoD OCONUS location.

Hired by Nortel to establish a market presence within the Department of the Navy. Successfully negotiated a subcontract position with EDS's NMCI contract, and won $700K of new business in the first year. Grew the business to $12M/yr and assumed P&L responsibilities selling both products and services. Added three sales personnel and three engineers to the team, and was heavily involved with R&D wireless projects within Nortel with focus on WiMAX with MIMO antenna technology.

Hired by Vigilinx to create a Managed Security Services (MSS) capability that includes the support of perimeter security solutions (i.e. Virtual Private Networks, Firewalls), and intrusion detection systems. Managed the creation of a 24x7 operations capability necessary to deliver a fully managed service. Current objectives are to have a complete managed services offering operational by the end of 2001, and to have contracted approximately $300,000 in new business revenue. Directly responsible for getting Vigilinx involved with the FALCON program, a United Kingdom Ministry of Defense project that had Vigilinx responsible for the design and roll out of a distributed management solution for a future tactical communications network. This initiative earned Vigilinx over $900,000 within 12 months. Was responsible for the management of Government business being conducted by Vigilinx, to include the management of the Vigilinx GSA schedule.

Hired by BBN Federal Network Systems in 1997 to perform marketing and sales with responsibilities to capture new business with the United States Navy. Additionally, was responsible for program management responsibilities for existing federal contracts. Managed several large telecommunications initiatives providing management and lead engineering support for various network and systems requirements. Promoted in 1998 to Business Area Manager, reporting directly to FNS Vice President. Was responsible for a $3M per annum US Navy business line.

Took over and managed troubled field office operations in Columbus, MS, which was responsible for the installation and operations of a large microwave radio network for the Corps of Engineers. Upon completion in 1990, was promoted and relocated; to serve as a network design engineer. In 1991, GTE bought Contel. Retained by GTE where continued my employment as an engineer. Was promoted in 1993 to position of Project Manager, and again in 1995 to Program Manager, where successfully managed several advanced technology initiatives and programs valued at $68M.

Completed six-year enlistment with; Background includes experience as a Wideband Communications Specialist, where served with the maintenance and operation of the Digital European Backbone (DEB), and with the 5th Combat Communications Group.
