The School Chair functions as the manager for the group of degrees offered within that School. The IT School of IT in OKC currently offers Associate and Bachelor level programs including software development, networking administration (computer networking), project management, information systems and cryptography (information security systems) and mobile communications technology. The duties of the chair include training, hiring, instruction, project planning, marketing, branding, department P&L, and industry updates.

Plan, direct, and coordinate the development, implementation, deployment and operation of information systems and technology solutions for business needs. Identify and propose new information technologies and systems to improve business processes and decision making. Work with the IT steering committee to establish the strategic direction of the Church's information systems as well as executing the strategy. Hire, review, and fire managers. Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of a multi-team or cross-functional organization.

Installs all new hardware, systems, and software for networks; installs, configures, maintains network services, equipment and devices; supports administration of servers and server clusters; manages all system back-up and restore protocol; plans and supports network and computing infrastructure; performs troubleshooting analysis of servers, workstations and associated systems; documents network problems and resolution for future reference; monitors system performance and implements performance tuning; manages user accounts, permissions, email, anti-virus, anti-spam; oversee software and network security.

Keeps labs and equipment clean and enforces all rules concerning the use of labs. Maintains a comfortable and safe working environment for lab users. Performs other related duties as assigned, such as: Operating System Imaging/Cloning, Lab configuring, and clerical tasks.
