Sunset Studios has evolved over the years into a creative design & technology systems integration firm focused on media & visual presentation technologies and high speed digital production workflow technology.Their systems are incorporated into corporate, retail, healthcare & hospitality facilities as well as high-end custom residential automation. Typical projects range from Conference Centers, Boardroom high definition display, collaboration & teleconference systems to studio quality Digital Cinema, Recording & Post Production environments.Jon's focus is on the client contacts, planning and design elements & preparing the blueprint documentation, while Sunset Studios team members install and program these systems.In 2015, Sunset Studios was responsible for designing and installing the studio and production workflow and equipment installation for two milestone projects: (1) Motorcar Parts of America of Torrance California, a public company's entry into digital production and social media & training for the 21st century and Providence High School's (Burbank California) Cinema Arts Department facility renovation.Both facilities required the integration of a high speed 8G fiber channel and 10G ethernet (respectively) network backbone topographies supporting 20+ post production computers integrated to HD-SDI and fiber optic production links from the studios. In 2010-13, Sunset Studios helped Christie Digital Systems, a multinational technology company specialized in Digital Projection equipment for Motion Picture Cinema multiplexes, with all of the technology and audiovisual systems integrated into their Cypress California 300,000 sq ft office and telepresence facilities.From training to telepresence to multi-use audiovisual huddle systems; Sunset Studios partnered in the design, integration, installation and support of this elite customer's visual presentation needs.

Jon was responsible for technology sponsorships and technology design for this "infotainment" marketing program. As a destination created to introduce Architects, Designers and high level consumers to the Design Center's showrooms; through this innovative marketing venue developed by Joe Ruggiero, former editor of Home Magazine, to introduce HGTV to its target market in 1994.Jon was retained to create and develop the venue as a showcase for innovative technology, integrated throughout the "home" installations, in the moment before broadband exploded onto the scene making the internet possible, changing everything we understood about communications.in the Design Centers, fully built home environments initially in the PDC grew to 5 western states Design Centers. Jon's role was to develop national sponsorships in media and technology, to integrate the environments and showcase the coming evolution in lifestyle technologies and the broadband revolution. Truly an innovative venue experiential center.Honored in Los Angeles, Jon was interviewed for LA Magazine millennial issue "Visions of the Future" for residential technology, as one of nine Futurists offering their visions for the new millenium.The program destinations hosted and toured over 750 thousand guests during tenures in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Dallas & Houston Design Centers' IdeaHouse installations.

Retained by Pacific Bell in their role as lead sponsor for Digital Hollywood at Raleigh Studios 2000. The event was planned but was canceled due to budget constraints in year 2000.

In 1979, Jon built a private 35mm screening rental facility on the Sunset Strip for independent producers to view their feature films and production dailies in a plush and private setting.Beverly Hills Screening Room was selected in 1982 by EMI as the showcase for their 3-D film system with the assistance of Academy Award Winning Director Murray Lerner. Beverly Hills Screening received the Film Advisory Board "Award of Excellence" in 1982 for showcasing innovative technology and introducing Computer Animation to the Hollywood film community in the late 1970s and early1980s.In 1985, Jon founded Sunset Studios as a creative marketing and production company.

Astralvision Communication was formed as a creative entertainment marketing company presenting innovations in technology to the Film and Television communities. We were selected by Mathmatical Application Group, Inc in 1979 to represent their groundbreaking 3D computer animation technology "Synthavision".Jon's efforts resulted in the Hollywood's first use of 3-D computer animation in a feature motion picture with the release of Walt Disney Studios "Tron" in 1982.Many firsts were achieved by the company in these years. Astralvision successfully introduced this technology to Walt Disney Studios who employed for the first time computers in the production of an animated Feature Film. Tron was released in 1981.Astralvision was part of the production team responsible for the stereo 3-D computer animation film entitled "From a Seed" directed by Murray Lerner featured at the opening of Walt Disney Epcot Living Imagination Pavillion.Astralvision participated in the founding of one of the first computer animation facilities in Hollywood on the lot of Paramount Studios.In the early 1980's Jon's expertise as an interactive designer and producer was utilized in the creation of some of the first live-action interactive programming for home entertainment with the VHD Laser Disc format. "You're the Coach" was based on the 1979 Rose Bowl game between Ohio State Buckeyes and USC. The program featured commentary by coaching and player greats Tom Harmon, Mike Garret.In 1982 Jon produced the first direct-response 1-800 :30 sec commercial to air on MTV and introduced "Electric Light Voyage", a one-hour VHS of computer animated visuals designed to play on TV as background with your favorite stereo soundtracks.
