These days, job displacement from AI is my main area of interest and I'm in the throws of leading a novel development that applied AI to this pressing problem.Aside, here are some of my (unrelated) future predictions:E-democracy, a vision of a better kind of politics will be rendered a political pipedream. Data convergence and machine learning will put paid to it. Those that have tools to understand what we like to see and do will be the new power brokers. Everyone else is just there for the ride. There’s no point worrying – the ride we will get will be the best possible ride for the people we are.Odds are, "the buyer will never win". While we are all afraid of what big companies can do with the data they acquire about us, the tools that will be available to us (the data subjects) will always be, one step behind and, by design, and by inadequate investment, impotent. The profiling industry has not yet begun. The “Characterisation” in scientific sense, of humans is an undiscovered industry. The nature of who we are and what we do, reduced to algorithms, is just the start. That reduction process has barely started.Accessing "the formula for the human condition" is less than one generation away: Our humanity is as complex as the movements of the clouds in the sky. Complex but not, I indecipherable. Lots of people are working on trying to define the formula, right now, for weather. On the very same day we have a formula that effectively predicts global weather, we will also have the tools to scientifically describe our very humanity. I don’t believe these predictions are dark…I find them illuminating!
