As a Trainer, I design and conduct multi-day training in Project Management, Scrum, Kanban, and Agile Ways of Working. As a coach and business consultant, I engage everyone (including leaders) effected by change and projects anywhere in the organization. As a mentoring Scrum Master, I support decision-makers in solving tough, intractable problems in creative, highly effective, sustainable ways. Consequently, my training, teams, and project outcomes are 100% effective in fulfilling our written goals. We improve our process continuously, transparently, delivering frequently, flawlessly and reliably on time, at or below budget.

Served in the Scrum Master accountability for product development teams in Math Mastery, and in the management team, while leading an Agile Excellence community of practice, training and mentoring other Scrum Masters (references available). I conducted internal training classes (Scrum, Kanban, and co-leadership) for cross-functional teams. I also organized internal events such as Hackathons. I led the delivery of hundreds of educational games, incrementally, on time and below budget. As a mature practitioner of scaled agile, I trained, mentored and guided the Mastery Department in adopting a Program Level delivery coordination structure for 8 teams.

I trained, coached and assessed the performance and Agile maturity of client teams. This elevated the relative efficacy and maturity of their Agile practice at team, program, and portfolio levels. Stakeholders raved about our expanded value delivering capacity. Deeply entrenched beliefs and practices from stage-gated and phased development approaches gave way to new Agile behaviors and thinking. Actionable metrics with evidence-based management practices spread to other departments. Dozens of managers and team members enlisted my help, via. a 1 on 1 coaching alliance we co-designed, drastically shifting their professional performance.

As a trainer, coach and consultant, I conducted team performance assessments, identifying opportunities to improve and mature using objective metrics and data. I trained private (between 5 to 80 participants) and public courses, then mentored, guided and coached hundreds of software development teams in SAFe, Large Scale Scrum (LeSS), Scrum at Scale (S@S), Lean, Kanban, Scrum and Agile. Ran Master Mind Group cohorts (8 to 12 each) at the C-Level, Manager, and team member levels. Portfolio, program, team and individual performance inflected upward and sustained improvement, especially in the case of historically trouble teams. Emerging leaders with bold, new ideas took up responsibility pivoting for value over time. Clients include a Japanese stock brokerage firm.

I trained and coached software development teams at an Insurance company, who adopted Scrum, as a part of a larger SAFe program and portfolio implementation. I coached 16 teams attempting Scrum on 2 programs (Agile Release Trains). I facilitated program level events (70+ participants). I mentored internal coach candidates who emerged as new leaders from the Scrum Teams. I conducted quantitative & qualitative assessment and analysis of my teams and programs’ performance, and Agile Maturity. The data, reports and options for action were available to the entire enterprise, for transparency. Employee engagement spiked dramatically as 1 of several positive outcomes. Consistent outflow of working software increments and new business capabilities were other outcomes of the engagement.

As the most experienced Scrum Master among 3, I trained, mentored, and coached 2 teams in agile project frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban. I nurtured the entirety of the Software Engineering organization in Scrum/XP practices such as automated testing, TDD and continuous integration. I supported the Product Owner in creating, refining and ordering the Product Backlog, releasing increments of working software which now helps prevent injury (fatal or not) of millions of users, saving their employers 10s of billions of dollars annually. I facilitated Scrum events, publishing team metrics, goals and performance data in total transparency. They improved far beyond waterfall with my support combined with that from the entire organization. I organized internal events such as Hackathons.

Coached across all business units, and facilitated events for dozens of teams through their transformation from a waterfall project paradigm into a product-driven, customer-centric model. Led 6 Scrum Teams as Scrum Master. As facilitator of many team and program level meetings, I helped uncover key factors for success, leveraging harmless, actionable metrics and enabled any team member or stakeholder to track progress on product development efforts and organizational change underway. I conducted SAFe training, assessments and published reports on team performance (Kanban & Scrum teams) to stakeholders. complex challenges in software development.

Facilitated and supported a Scrum team transitioning from a matrixed, phase-gated traditional waterfall approach in software development, to stable product delivery of working software Increments every 3 weeks. We partnered closely with managed service providers, continuously improving an orchestrated flow of user value across the entire organization, which complied incrementally with the regulatory conventions and due process of 50 jurisdictions in the USA. Our leveraging Agile procurement to align with external partners played a pivotal role in hitting our goals each Sprint. I facilitated and enabled the team’s continuous improvement via. the Sprint Retrospective. My team consistently impressed its stakeholders hitting or exceeding its goals as they pulled in more agile practices, and let go of traditions no longer serving them.
