The programme’s business objective was to provide an IT solution that would support the rapidly evolving, global supply-chain processes as part of JLR’s business global expansion strategy. The role included the following activities:• Followed SAP’s ASAP methodology in project management, as this was JLR’s preferred way of managing large-scale ERP deployments. • Managed weekly meetings with project work-stream and attend weekly steering-group meetings.• Direct responsibility for a budget in excess of £5M.• Managed a complex range of issues, risks, dependencies, and assumptions; this was a challenging area as the stakeholder members were senior managers from all parts of the business, each with their own set of aggressive business objectives to meet. The demanding objectives and very tight time-scales was mainly due to the business growing at a remarkable rate, especially internationally. • Built and encouraged a good team culture in a very demanding environment. The work-stream team included five direct reports, suppliers’ project managers and a PMO function. • Supplier management, including offshore (India) development.• Responsible for integrating the legacy IT landscape via an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) with JLR’s SAP rollout using, where possible, standard SAP iDocs. JLR’s legacy applications included the following, CMMS3 (MRP), Ricardo (customs), Supplier and Customer EDI gateway. • Managing all changes to the project scope and requirements via JLR’s change-control procedures.• External supplier IT readiness support and readiness testing. This included detailed, ‘end to end’ integration testing with a handful of suppliers and full readiness validation with over 300 parts suppliers.The first phase of the project was delivered on time, to the requirements and within the budget.

These included:- • Defining local deliverables (both IT and operational), that fell outside of the wider programme scope. • Ensuring that the project is delivered within the time-scales and financial requirements of the programme. • Managing, monitoring and motivating project resource. • Providing regular programme updates to the main CEVA project board.• Managing internal development teams and external suppliers. • Risk and Issue management.The third role was quite general; in essence it was to provide CEVA with on-going risk assessments of their potential commercial exposure with their client (VW Group) and relevant risk mitigation plans. These plans were then reviewed on a regular basis with CEVA’s senior management team, with the appropriate action being taken.

The initial requirement was to select a technical partner that would work along Lovefilm in designing and developing this new On Demand streaming film service. The second requirement was to fully understand what options were available for using generic streaming players and their respective streaming encryption algorithms. The main responsibilities of this role were :-• Managing the web design, graphics and development teams.• Defining functional requirements and obtaining buy in from the project sponsor.• Using SCRUM’s Agile project management to ensure the project is delivered on time, to specification and within budget.• Managing external suppliers based in the UK and USA.• Defining video and audio encoding standards for the library of films to be transcoded into. This was a first in the UK as there were not any audio industry standards to work to. Adobe’s FLASH was selected for video streaming.• Updating the project steering group.• Managing the test team and the controlled release of this service into Lovefilm’s million plus subscriber base.• Working with the marketing team to ensure there was maximum external publicity for this service during its launch.
