Never stop wondering, never stop questioning – life is full of beauty to discover. When you see a forest before you, instead of seeing it as one being pay attention to all the little details in it. How each tree has their individual textures, how their branches ricochet towards the sky in all shapes. And yet together they form the perfect picture.The same applies to video games. We as players tend to look at the whole picture when we are playing and rarely notice the little details behind that. But what if some of those details were removed or replaced by something else? We would get a completely different experience, and if that specific detail did not fit the whole scene, we would surely notice that something was off. Back to the forest, if we encountered a fake tree made of plastic among others, that would draw our attention back from the illusion of the perfect forest. All those little details should work together to enhance the game experience and immersion, making it complete and enjoyable. The more you don’t pay attention to those details, the closer we are to the feeling of immersion – the feeling the games we love to play tend to give us.As a game developer, I am quick to learn and react.
