I've worked in securities, futures and crypto markets for the past 43 years. I've served on boards of public & private companies and exchanges, and I am a frequent lecturer at financial events. I have been a founder of trading firms, brokerage firms and venture capital funds. I designed and built a high frequency trading (HFT) system that my partner Chris Keith, former head of technolocy at the NYSE and I sold to Goldman Sachs in 1998. They system was capable of trading over a billion shares per hour. I was a business anchor for Fox Television Chicago as well as First Business, a show that airs in 160 markets across the country and I was a paid contributor to various CNBC programs, including Fast Money, Fast Money Halftime Report, Power Lunch and Squawk Box. Since I don't have enough to do, I also hosted a radio show on CBS every business day called "Stocks and Jocks, Taking Care of Business with Doctor J." for four years on CBS radio and Sirius XM. In October of 2008 my brother Pete and I launched TradeMonster.com, an online brokerage. TradeMonster won multiple awards from Barron's & other industry periodicals and was sold to E*Trade for $725M in 2016. We also trademarked HeatSeeker & DepthCharge algorithms and shared that unusual option activity (UOA) on CNBC, Fox and CNN. In 2017 Pete & I launched MarketRebellion, an educational and subscription business that delivers our unique market intel and education to investors around the world. We have educated some 300,000 investors since then and in 2024 we partnered with master business builder Grant Cardone to dramatically expand our reach & level the playing field for retail investors looking to build wealth.
