I-EM Delft creates a platform for students and teachers (WO-HBO-MBO) to work together on accelerating the Energy Transition. Creating solutions for (local) smart energy hubs. Students and Teachers actually build new solutions together. This inspires new ways of education and brings together business, public organizations and education.

From the wonderful building blocs of water and nature we at PWN try to accelerate the transition towards a carbon free, circular and connected world. In our energy transition program we focus not only on reducing our own CO2 footprint but work together with regional partners to accelerate the energy transition, adapt to the changing climate and bundle infrastructure projects that underpin the success of the transition towards a sustainable future.

The energy transition is about creating a sustainable future. But a sustainable future is so much more than simply clean energy. It's connected, circulair and clean. It enables more people to be part of our society and it integrates learning and education to our economy. To enable this transition we accelerate breakthrough projects through business development, financial engineering and system interventions.

There are certain innovations which go far beyond improving our day to day live. They change the way we commute, the way we consume and produce energy and the way we interact with each other. In doing so they propel us towards a decarbonised, sustainable future.As senior business developer I work together with entrepreneurs, start-ups and public organizations to scale up these (disruptive) innovations. Within the broad field of cleantech I focus specifically on sustainable energy.

Sustainable solutions to the world’s largest challenges require ground-breaking innovations. These innovations will only be effective through an integrative approach to technology, business, public interests and regulation. The Green Village provides a unique platform for this type of innovation.As manager innovation programs, it is my responsibility to work together with the program managers to create synergy between the different innovation programs. At the cross-roads of these different fields of expertise, innovations can reinforce one another towards the next step in systems innovation and ultimately towards a sustainable future..

Have you ever marveled at the way organizations work? Not at the hierarchal structures they are supposed to be but at the intricate system if interaction between individuals which determines the way they work.Why do some innovations get adopted so quickly while others, who seem just as promising, never get adopted. In other words how does the diffusion of social innovation throughout (network)organizations work? This is the question i'm trying to answer, building on system theory, social constructionism and complexity theory.

SummaryDuring this period I've been writing my master thesis on the critical success factors of innovation in the public sector. Next to a thorough literature study, I examined a case study on the Dutch inspection services and the way they implemented 'Vernieuwing Toezicht'.
