Reporting to both the Chief Operating Officer and Manager, Operations Business Analysis, I am a key staff contributor in research, macro-, and micro-analysis on the Canadian and global egg markets. I work closely with managers and subject matter experts in the Business Management and Market Intelligence units to make strategic recommendations for the operations side of the business. Following two years working as a unit manager with Egg Farmers of Canada, I chose to move back into a subject matter expert role where I could use the broader industry knowledge I had obtained in my previous experience to push for higher quality reporting and decision making from the front-line level.In the role of Senior Operations Business Analyst, I act as the knowledgeable staff on all processes and policies covered within the documentation which is used to administer the Industrial Products Program for eggs in Canada. I use this knowledge to collaborate with other units for any decision making which would be influenced by the program, and have been actively making strategic recommendations on how we can smooth the transition back to a post-pandemic climate. Other responsibilities of the role include:- Training and knowledge sharing with new analysts in both my unit and sister units- Making recommendations on how to adapt programs during the pandemic, as well as post-pandemic.- Acting as a project manager on key projects for the Operations department.- Regular communication with external stakeholders, including presenting at EFC board meetings.- Furthering progress towards task automation and increasing unit efficiencies. - Execution and close-out of key existing programs.

The Business Management unit is responsible for analyzing data to understand and solve business problems, as well as presenting on results.Through the Coronavirus pandemic, I made key contributions to the management of unique challenges posed to the egg supply chain. I worked closely with provincial egg boards in the execution of the Conventional to Enriched Transition and Producer Price (CETPP) project, a collaborative project which involved the transition of pricing models for different hen housing types.
