Responsibilities/Achievements: - Leadership of a committee. I gathered the local mountain bikers to form a constituted entity with roles such as chair, secretary, treasurer, etc.- Provided a clear vision for volunteers. I led committee meetings to plan how TWMBA would achieve what is listed below. I then met with the landowners and presented a proposal and 5-year plan.- Conflict resolution. Once we mountain bikers had established ourselves as a constituted entity, TWMBA, we were able to cooperate with landowners and effectively erase the previously existing conflict between mountain bikers and other woodland users.- Encouraged proper etiquette. We put an end to issues within the mountain bike community such as illegal trail building and littering.- Resolved issues regarding the liability of the trails which had previously been placed on the landowners. TWMBA licensed the land and acquired public liability insurance.- Resolved issues regarding the legality of the trails. TWMBA decided to destroy every trail (as they had been illegally built) and reconstruct them to a professional standard. This involved creating and adhering to risk assessments, SOP’s, and a site plan. The trails were then signed off by a professional.- Created a sense of community. All of the trails were constructed by hand by teams of volunteers - who were the same mountain bikers who used and loved the trails. TWMBA encourages everyone, regardless of ability and experience, to join its ever-growing community of builders/riders. TWMBA also began assisting the landowners with woodland upkeep, such as litter picking, clearing fallen trees, and selling Christmas trees to raise funds for the woodland.Most importantly, Llanelli, which is a deprived area, now benefits from a local mountain bike facility. This enables young people to participate in an outdoor activity instead of getting drawn by bad influences.TWMBA continues to thrive. I passed on my role as chairman when I left the country.

3-months initial training involving:Practicing canoe and kayak rescues in icey water, paddling many miles on lochs and camping on remote islands, learning how to lead a trad rock climb, and gaining various outdoor qualifications.After the 3 months, I was then able to work with groups to provide outdoor activities to help them step out of their comfort zones and enjoy the great outdoors.My time as an outdoor instructor came to an end as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Responsibilities included:- Preparing of equipment for events.- working on events (team builds and leadership courses) and managing specific activities. Customers included: Qatar Gas, Shell, Vodafone, etc.- Risk assessments for power tools.- climbing kit and mountain biking inventory.- Mountain bike maintenance.
