Working in a small but busy team in Harrogate and the surrounding areas. I manage a large caseload of low-medium risk offenders; many of whom are prolific and fall under the Integrated Offender Management (IOM) umbrella. Work includes the day to day Supervision of offenders and enforcement of Court orders.

Southwark, London

I am an Officer in the High Risk Team managing a caseload of young offenders both in the community and custodial settings. My role includes the direct Supervision of cases, liaison with families, schools and other professional and voluntary organisations involved in their development. I am required to write Pre-Sentence Reports for Youth and Crown Courts, the development and implementation of sentence plans and continuous assessment of the young person and their circumstances in relation to risk, vulnerability and safety. Southwark Youth Offending Service is currently moving to a systemic way of working and this will create a more holistic service for those that we work with.

Kensington, Chelsea And Westminster

My role was split between the management of medium to very high risk offenders and Court-based Probation work at Westminster Magistrates Court. The former invloved work with a diverse caseload comprising of high-risk sexual and violent offenders and those that posed a high risk of reoffending. The latter formed a large part of my work as the Probation Lead for the Integrated Offender Management (IOM) scheme in the borough. This involved regular meetings with various statutory and voluntary partner agencies to develop strategies for reducing this risk of reoffending for this cohort.My Court based work involved daily report writing, either several Fast Delivery Reports or full Pre-Sentence Reports on those appearing at Court either on the day or in the near future. This involved working to tight time-schedules and to the high standard expected of working in a busy and high profile central London Court.

Lewisham

My first role as a qualified office involved the full-time management of approximately 40-50 cases. I managed a generic caseload covering medium to very-high risk. I was the borough lead for Substance Misuse issues and would regularly chair meetings for fellow Probation Officers and Substance Misuse workers.

Camden & Islington

I completed my training successfully obtaining a 2:1 (Hons) in Community Justice and a Diploma in Probation Studies. I was the highest scoring candidate at the post-training assessment centre for my cohort of approximately 40 trainees.

Southwark

My first role in Probation was as a case administrator and helped me develop a good understanding of the systems used in within this industry with particular reference to the Offender Assessment System (OASys) and Delius. I became a 'Superuser' of both programmes and continue to use both systems to a high standard. I also improved my knowledge and skills in the Microsoft Office suite and Lotus Notes programmes.

Bermondsey/Brixton

Both of the above positions required the assessment of student's finances prior to attending university for the purposes of receiving loans and grants. Both positions involved complex calculations of an individuals finances, including family circumstances. Although the position was initially temporary I was offered a full-time position based on my performance in the role.
