- Provide Group Life quotations and support the Pricing Underwriters within the Employee Benefits division by providing the initial analysis of requests and accurately keying them on the in-house programme, Apollo, before passing findings on to the Underwriters- Set up quotation requests to be underwritten by identifying each technical aspect of the quote request, from the data to specification, before passing on to the correct team (for both Group Life and Group Income Protection enquires)- Liaising with the brokers and our sales team in relation to technical quotations that need additional information or further investigation which requires confidence and an in-depth knowledge of the products we work with-Both roles require proactively managing the work volumes to stay within service level agreements, ensuring data privacy laws are met and also switch between roles as and when the business needs

- Working on complex medical cases; producing technical quotations on behalf of Canada Life (ex Retirement Advantage) whilst working alongside the Medical Underwriting, Actuarial, Finance and Sales teams to produce the most accurate rate for the client- Creating and processing enhanced/complex medical quotations independently for Financial Advisers by producing illustrations, with a variety of options, within the Annuity industry- Analysing and reviewing client's medical history via their disclosures and hospital letters to ensure we are providing the most accurate rate for our potential customers- Calculating client's Lifetime Allowance (LTA) protection/benefits and any necessary taxation- Processing annuity applications for clients- Liaising with Financial Advisers regarding individual cases via email and telephone- Checking if payments have been received with the correct documentation to process- Calling Pension schemes to chase outstanding payments for the clients- Working alongside the Underwriting team to make sure quotes given are correct and fair to clients and that any changes are clearly communicated through the team- Answering inbound customer queries as well as dealing with questions from financial Advisers and Pension schemes

The work ethic with this type of role is immersive and requires a very hands on and DIY approach. It is rewarding but hard work as I create the flyers myself, promote events via social media, physically put up posters and hand out flyers, liaise with DJs/bands/venues, set up the venue space (e.g. lights, sound and visuals) as well as DJ myself sometimes. However, something that started as a hobby has grown into a very rewarding role and as a result means I get to meet a lot of interesting people, spread my enthusiasm for bands/artists and even gain knowledge in what I love most: music!
